Colin Neblett Wildlife Area

One of the true gems of Northern New Mexico is the Colin Neblett Wildlife Area.  The property measures 33,166 acres, surrounds the Cimarron Canyon State Park, and stretches from Ute Park to Eagle Nest Lake State Park.

Developed access is limited to a few maintained hiking trails.  Most of the property is extremely rugged and remote, although old logging roads are sometimes navigable to hikers.  There is no vehicle access beyond the parking areas in the Cimarron Canyon floor.  Visitors must have a valid New Mexico hunting or fishing license, a GAIN permit, or a pass to Cimarron Canyon State Park.
