Valle Vidal

 

The Carson National Forest is 1.5 million acres of public land located in Northern New Mexico.  The closest access from Raton to the Carson, and one of the most special properties in all of New Mexico, is the Valle Vidal Unit.  The Valle Vidal is over 100,000 acres of contiguous near-wilderness.  Most of the unit is over 9,000′ elevation, and the highest peak reaches 12,584′.
