2016 Colfax County Fair

Everything looks good from the start, a firm grip on the wool and plenty of encouraging supervision.

But then…

It might be bad luck when a cowboy loses his hat.

Luckily it’s just good clean fun in the annual Mutton Busting competition!

Some events were missing from this year’s fair, replaced by new events. In particular this year’s fair featured a Goat Dressing contest and an entertaining guest performer, Brice Chapman from Lubbock, Texas.

Team Roping and Barrel Racing were two traditional events at the 2016 Colfax County Rodeo.

This steer is so handsome and well-behaved, I don’t believe I could eat him.
