Signs of Past Enterprise, remnant traces of old business advertising throughout town. Although some recent and smaller businesses are included, the primary focus is historic businesses and companies that were once important to the local economy.

Pecos National Historical Park is located 148 miles from Raton, just off of I-25 between Pecos and Rowe. A new page has been added to display a handful of photographs featuring the scenery and history of the park.
The Sugarite Canyon State Park photo page has been updated with four new photographs from today’s hike.
A new page has been added for photographs of wildlife seen within the city limits.

A new category has been added to the website, Area Parks and Public Lands, beginning with Sugarite Canyon State Park. The idea is to promote New Mexico parks and public lands that are reasonably close to Raton. “Reasonably close,” indicates that a person staying in Raton could drive to the area, have time to visit, and return to Raton in the same day. By that working definition the Valle Vidal, Mills Canyon, and Fort Union are all reasonably close to Raton, but Carlsbad Caverns and Albuquerque are not.
Last night was the annual Christmas on the Chicorica at Sugarite Canyon State Park. The event featured luminaria walks on the nearby trails, stargazing through a telescope, a blazing campfire, and hot beverages.
