A new category has been added to the website, Area Parks and Public Lands, beginning with Sugarite Canyon State Park.  The idea is to promote New Mexico parks and public lands that are reasonably close to Raton.  “Reasonably close,” indicates that a person staying in Raton could drive to the area, have time to visit, and return to Raton in the same day.  By that working definition the Valle Vidal, Mills Canyon, and Fort Union are all reasonably close to Raton, but Carlsbad Caverns and Albuquerque are not.
